Ranch Dressing

I LOVE RANCH DRESSING!

I have grown up eating it with all my veggies.

In high school I learned that ranch goes great with chicken fingers and french fries.

Till this day I only eat ranch dressing on my salads and I do NOT partake in non-fat ranch or low fat ranch dressing.

Actually it makes me really mad when trainers are like "Eating a salad with dressing is the same thing as eating a burger and fries."

I just don't believe that statement.

Everyday I eat a salad with 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing and I haven't gained any weight from this practice.

I also run a lot...so I know that helps keep my weight down.

However a salad with low fat dressing is just not appealing to me at all.

So I try to limit my ranch intake to 2 tablespoons which I believe is around 140 calories.

I will say that my salad only contains veggies: lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers.

Veggies that have hardly any calories so I can enjoy my ranch.

For example I don't often add egg, avocado, cheese, olives or croutons because that would really add up.

I make these small sacrifices so that I can have my beloved ranch, which is often called "fat girls ketchup."

Obviously there are others out there who share my love for ranch.

I found this photo online of a ranch fountain someone put out at a party.

I want to take a bath in it!

I want this ranch fountain at my wedding.

Let me know if you love ranch dressing!!!

I want these shoes!

I just randomly came across these shoes!

I love anything that has that Mexican blanket look.

These Vans shoes were part of the 2010 collections and I can't find them for sale anywhere.

Boo!

Help me find them.

Short Circuit

I recently watched Short Circuit for the first time.

I was going through my cast mate, Phil's DVD collection and I pointed to Short Circuit and said "Is this Wall-E's Dad?"

Phil insisted I watch it and I did and I love Johnny Five.

Everyone else in the movie was awful but that robot is so adorable.

Wall-E looks so much like him but Jeff looked it up and apparently the animator of Wall-E had never seen Short Circuit before.

A few weekends ago my Hawaiian friends took me out to get pho soup.

I've always wanted to try it so they took be to a Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of the China town in Honolulu.

My good friend John and I got egg creams which were pretty good.

The pho was amazing.

It's similar to ramen except the broth has a basil, lime flavor.

Island Way Sorbet

These are so good.

I just finished eating a coconut one and the sorbet came in a coconut!

Each sorbet is served in its natural fruit shell.

Looks like you can buy them at Costco.

Big Bang Theory

I don't watch network comedies.

That's right I'm one of those people.

So when I caught Jeff watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory I was super judgmental.

Then I sat down and watched the rest of it with him.

I laughed out loud so much I knew I was hooked.

Not only do I own all the DVD's of the show but I also have in my possession two BBT t-shirts: The Friendship Algorithm one and the one that says Bazinga!

Give this show a chance.

Everyone does a great job however my favorite character is Dr. Sheldon Cooper played by Jim Parsons.

I love him so much.

The show is about a group of extremely intelligent nerds who all hang out together.

Much of the comedy comes from the clashing of worlds between the nerds and Penny, the hot girl neighbor.

I love Kaley Cuoco who plays Penny.

I think she does a fantastic job and I love that she laughs a lot on camera.

I first saw Kaley in the Lifetime movie Fat Like Me, where she plays an attractive teenager who dons a fat suit to see what high school is like for overweight people.

It's one of those so bad it's good, made for T.V. movies.

Now in it's 5th Season I still thing the show is going strong.

Jeff thinks the first 3 seasons are the best.

It's one of the few television shows that makes me laugh out loud every episode.

I love these guys.

Here's a short youtube of Sheldon saying his signature catch phrase "Bazinga!"

Here's Wolowitz playing Dance Dance Revolution.

I wish I could put more Youtube clips up but most of them are blocked so just go watch the show for yourself!

Rolo McFlurry

Don't you feel like sometimes you deserve a treat?

I give you the Rolo McFlurry.

It is so delicious.

I love Rolo's and ate them all the time when I was little.

The McFlurry mixes pieces of Rolo's with clumps of delicious caramel.

Treat yourself to one today.

And they are only around for a limited time so you better act fast!

Monkey Movie!

If you know me...or my blog you know that I love MONKEYS!

And there is a new monkey movie coming out...I think it's called Rise of the Planet of the Apes...but I just refer to it as the monkey movie.

I am both excited and terrified to see it.

I remember watching the original Planet of the Apes with my parents a long time ago and I don't remember anything about it.

I love monkeys so much but I know how smart they are and I'm afraid this movie will make me fear them.

Why it was just the other day that I watched a youtube video of a gorilla playing pacman.

He knew to avoid the ghosts and everything.

And of course the monkey movie stars James Franco.

I can't seem to get away from that guy.

I wonder if those Frango mints that I love so much in Chicago will soon be named Franco mints.

Seriously James Franco is stalking me.

He even gave an interview in Costco Connections, a magazine that my parents get from Costco's.

The Hunger Games

Stop what you are doing and go buy The Hunger Games!

I am so obsessed with this book that I read it in one day.

It reminds me a lot of my two favorite short stories: Shirley Jackson's The Lottery and Ernest Hemingway's The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber.

I ALWAYS judge a book by its cover and had my reservations about this one.

To me the book jacket screams FUTURE, ROBOTS, CREATURES WITH WEIRD NAMES.

And while some of this is true the writing is terrific and you are hooked after reading the first page.

Listen guys I have been waiting for a book series like this to latch onto.

Sure I've read Lord of the Rings, a few Harry Potters, The Twilight Saga and yes even all 7 books of the Pretty Little Liar series.

I mean they were all alright.

I guess my favorite being LOTR.

And yes its fun going to the Twilight movies even though they are awful.

But now I have a series I can get excited about!

And get ready folks because the movie comes out next year starring: Jennifer Lawrence!

I love her!

She is perfect for the role.

I will be at the midnight showing wearing my hair in a long braid down my back carrying a bow and arrow and when my friends who haven't read the books turn to me and say

"Why are you dressed like that?"

I will answer "No reason."

I'm starting book 2 tonight.

Don't fail me now Hunger Games!

Vintage

I am obsessed with the word "Vintage" and really don't know what time period I'm referencing when I say it.

Sometimes I'm referring to the Edwardian era other times the 1960's.

Either way I can't stop saying it.

* I have no idea of the picture I used in this blog is vintage.

The Colony on Discovery Channel

Do you like Survivor?

Then you'll love The Colony on Discovery Channel.

My friend Rance introduced Jeff and I to this show last year.

We just finished season two and it was just great.

Much better than season one except I recommend both.

The Colony throws a group of people together in a post apocalyptic world and sees if they can survive.

People get busy building water filtration systems and energy sources on day one.

You know what I would do day one of the apocalypse...CRY.

I am too lazy to go up to the buffet on the ship when I need a drink, there is no way I'd build a water filtration system.

The show really makes you wish you had gotten your degree in chemical engineering or physics.

A theatre degree will NOT help me in a post apocalyptic society.

Although this season had a model and she did o.k.....well actually something really really bad happens to her.

Check it out if you need a new show!
