The Launch of Brett Flix

Brett has retaliated.

Tomorrow's News Today!

Remember this show?

Early Edition....the show about the guy "Who gets tomorrow newspaper today."

Well since there is a huge time difference between Hawaii and New York...I now think I am that guy.

I'll switch on the news here at midnight and its 6am in New York and I'll think to myself "HA I'm getting tomorrows news faster than anyone!"

I know this theory might not make any sense to you but it makes perfect sense to me.

Cause in my head I'm like o.k. its midnight here and I just saw the story about the bull who ran through a grocery store...HA people in Chicago are still asleep because its 5am there....I got the news before they did!

I understand that people could be awake at 5am and watching the news but still.....I am getting Tomorrow's News Today!!!!!!!!

*I've never seen a single episode of Early Edition.

I am obsessed with Koi fish!

They are the fish of Japan and can live to be 50-70 years old.

The oldest one recorded lived to be 226 years old!

I find them so relaxing to watch.

Chris informed me that its cool and hip to get a Koi tattoo.

I like Koi so much that I am even thinking of downloading an App. on my iphone called "Koi Pond" where you can just watch animated Koi fish swim around!

Why not is only 0.99 cents after all!

JDG's DVD's vs. Brett Flix

I run a fake DVD store on the ship called JDG's DVD's...or Jeffrey Dale Griggs' DVD's.

Jeff had a great DVD collection.

He has almost all the AFI top 100, every important comedy T.V show ever made, ect.

He let's people check them out and I'm in charge of writing down who checked out what.

There are no deadlines here at JDG's DVD's however if something is kept for an unusual amount of time I am responsible for calling that person.

Now Brett has started his own DVD business called Brett Flix.

However unlike Net Flix he does not deliver them to your cabin.

He boasts that he carries a wide array of Indie films which I have yet to see.

He has yet to get a customer.

So far our best customer is Chris who has checked out 5 movies.

In second place is Robyn who borrowed Jeff's video iPod and T.V connector which allowed her to see all of Mad Men season 2.

Now if you are looking for any Shirley Temple movies, or if you just have a strong desire to see the original Parent Trap, I'm your gal.

FJC's DVD's boasts many family classics and movies you loved watching over and over as a kid.

And I'm the only person in the cast with all 7 seasons of Little People Big World!

So please come and see me with any of your movie needs!

The Log Flume

The Log Flume is my favorite ride at any amusement park.

Yes...I think it is scary.

Look how high this one is!!!!

Its the perfect ride because:

1.) The line is never long to ride it.

2.) You never really get wet.

3.) It's very scenic.

4.) It's a little scary but not too bad.

5.) There are no seat belts.

Listen up....I love Pedometers!

I love knowing how far I am walking and how many calories I am burning.

I'm not that healthy.

I mean its not like I'm like "Yes I walked 5 miles today and with my low calorie diet I am going to be fit in no time."

Instead I'm like "I walked 5 miles today!!!!! Surely I burned off that DQ Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard."

I just love seeing the number go up up and away.

Its so much fun for me.

Last Valentines day Jeff got me a Sony Walkman phone because it played music....yeah I never downloaded any music on it but it had a pedometer built into it!

I loved being the person in the group who would on occasion make a pedometer announcement like "Hey guys...I don't know if you realize this but we have walked 3.3 miles."

No one ever really cares UNLESS we are over the 10 mile mark.

Then they are like "No...that can't be...your thing must be messed up."

Comments like this make me a little angry because I love and trust all pedometers.

Well I just got a new iphone and the first question I asked Jeff was " there an application that allows you to have a pedometer on the iphone?"

And there is!!!!

I am back in business baby.

T.V. Show Theme Songs....

I am currently obsessed with singing T.V. Show Theme Songs.

Fortunately so are most of my cast mates....and with the help of Chris's beat box skills we are unstoppable in any van ride through Hawaii.

I seriously have rapped the Fresh Prince of Bel Air song 3 times in the past 2 weeks.

Here are some other faves:

I can't tell you how good Robyn sings the Family Ties song!

Fire Training and Bronchitis

Hello Loyal Readers,

Since I last blogged I have endured one of the toughest tasks of my life...obtaining my basic fire fighting license.

This apparently was a "must" when signing up to do this contract....even though I am an entertainer and not an oh I don't know: strong 6'2 man from NY who loves the show Rescue Me.

The process was grueling.

A weeks worth of 8 hour classes followed by numerous tests.

The whole thing ended in us actually going to a fire school, donning actual equipment including the scary breathing masks and putting out several large fires.

I had to crawl on my hands and knees in all my equipment through what they call a zero visibility maze where its so dark you can't see your hand in front of you face.

Not only did I cry most of the night before fire school...I also cried 4 times while I was there.

All of the stress and the jumping in and out of a freezing pool for 3 hours....(oh I forgot to mention I had to do life boat training) left me with a 101 fever for 3 days and Bronchitis.

A small price to pay I suppose.....

I will note that we had to watch several boating gone wrong videos which showed actually cruise boats that hand sank or been badly damaged.

In 3 out of the 4 videos...the captain and crew fled the scene and the entertainers took charge and saved everyone!

I guess that's what we were doing there.
